Reinhard Kaiser-Mühlecker was born 1982 in the Krems Valley, Austria. He studied in Vienna and runs the family farm. Kaiser-Mühlecker has won numerous awards for his literary work, including the Austrian State Prize.
Siegfried Lenz said of Kaiser-Mühlecker’s work, “wonderful the way you write” and Peter Handke sees him “in a row with Stifter and Hamsun”.
He was awarded the Austrian Book Prize for his novel Brennende Felder (published by S. Fischer).
