A picture book about bullying at school and learning to fight back

“My name is Mimi and I‘m in the second grade. Florian and the boys always tease me. I have to do something about it. Maybe my grandpa can help me with that.“

Mimi is teased and bullied by older boys at her school. Her grandpa teaches her boxing so she can fight back.

Strengthened, she goes to school and is prepared when she meets the boys again. But the encounter ends differently than expected.

“A great and important picture book that deals with the topic of bullying in a way that is both realistic and encouraging. The sentences are short and clear. The colourful, two-dimensional graphics are captivating. Highly recommended.” – Maria Witlif/ekz-bibliotheksservice

“The reader learns in an impressive way how Mimi bravely faces her fears and manages to fight back. Her grandad helps her a lot and supports her. The book is illustrated with colourful drawings in a very appealing and king-fair way. Highly recommended.” – AJuM – Working Group for Youth Literature and Media

“The book shows that fear makes us bully others. Self-confidence is then very important and allows us to be strong.” – Dagmar Mädgefrau/Verein zur Förderung der Kinder- und Jugendlitertaur e. V.

“[…] Unusual, clear and a picture book that can and should be discussed.” – Andrea Wanner / TITEL kulturmagazin
