Kathrin Schrocke was born in Augsburg in 1975. She studied German and psychology and then worked for several years as a press officer in the publishing industry and as a lecturer in adult education. She has been a freelance author since 2005. Her novels for young people on realistic and socially critical themes have been translated into numerous languages and have won many awards. Kathrin Schrocke lives in Essen and is currently building a multigenerational house there together with 40 other people.
