8-year-old Ainu moves from village to village with her mother Tabati and pony Bifi, offering their services as pest controllers and monster hunters in a class of their own. Ainu would love to keep every monster they catch – much to her mother’s annoyance.

But the next assignment proves to be particularly dangerous: In Füllengosch, the boy Halti has been kidnapped by an eerie monster that has left behind huge tracks and tufts of night-black fur – the Shadow Slayer!
