Michaela Konrad, born in Graz in 1972, lives and works in Vienna and Santa Cruz (Tenerife). She received her artistic training at the Centro Municipal de Arte Gráfico in Santa Cruz, with the draughtsman Tommi Kuehberger and she studied for a year at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Michaela Konrad’s work spans a broad spectrum of media – in series and sequences that visually draw on midcentury comics, vintage game design, science fiction pulp magazines and past mass culture phenomena, she presents an artistic exploration of the big questions facing humanity.
